Tyler Brooks

10/10/18

Tyler Brooks graduated from NL in 2011. He went on to earn a B.A. in Athletic Training from Messiah College. After graduating from college, Brooks spent 3 years working as a trainer for the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates in the Dominican Republic. Currently he works as a Minor League Athletic Trainer for the Pittsburgh Pirates, as part of the Bristol Pirates rookie affiliate. Brooks was recently honored with the 2018 Appalachian League Athletic Trainer of the Year award.

Brooks currently divides his time between Jonestown, PA; Bradenton, FL; and Bristol, TN. He enjoys traveling and snowboarding during baseball’s offseason. The thing that Brooks most appreciated about his time at NL was the “supportive staff and faculty that have created countless opportunities for mentorship to current and former students.” The following is Brooks’ advice for current NL students: Never tell yourself that your goals are “too ambitious.” Create a plan to achieve those long-term goals and set short-term goals to keep yourself on track. If it’s important, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.
